"I started out taking a trip to Italy. It was my first time in Europe and I decided to buy a new camera with a long lens. Well that was the beginning of my photographic journey. I couldn't put the camera down! I loved taking the photos, looking at them in my computer, cropping them, playing with colors and tones, until the vision on the screen looked the way I saw it (and sometimes the way I would like to see it!). I came home, quickly upgraded my camera to a fancier DSLR and began learning everything I could! Years later and I am still learning and loving it just as much...maybe even more. Just fabulous! Would you mind, if I ask about the filter you used while taking this shot. The advancing wave gives impression of some blockade, if you had waited few second more and taken shot of receding wave, the effect would have been totally different. Just a thought.

Thank you! Actually, there were no waves. What you are seeing is frozen water and ice. The bay was all frozen. I used a nd filter but I am not fully sure I used it for this shot. I tend to bring my skies back in post and try not to blow them out during the shot.
